2 Feb – After much speculations about the fourth movie following Will Smith's previous controversy when he slapped comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, the actor and his co-star Martin Lawrence announced that the project is now back in action. Both Smith and Lawrence shared the good news on social media with a video, with Smith first hinting it with the song "Shake Ya Tailfeather," Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee's song from the 2003 "Bad Boys II" soundtrack. He then arrived at a door, which turned out to be Lawrence's house, with the two then declaring "It's about that time!"
"Bad boys for life baby," Smith said, before they comically acknowledged that they shouldn't have called the fourth movie by the third movie's official title. The yet-to-be-titled sequel is currently in pre-production with "Bad Boys For Life" helmers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah returning to direct. Rumours of the project being scraped sparked following the Smith's controversy, and the actor has been laying low since then.
