19 Apr – Alia Bhatt has recently made it into the TIME 100 Most Influential People of 2024 list. Alia, who is the only Bollywood actress in the list, was praised by her "Heart of Stone" director Tom Harper as a "truly international star" in the write up that came with the list.
He expressed, "There is a grace to the way she goes about her work: focused, open to ideas, and willing to take creative risks. One of my favourite moments in the film came from an improvisation at the end of a take where she took the emotional thread and ran with it." Alia shared her gratitude on social media, writing, "Honoured to be a part of the #TIME100. Thank you dearest #TomHarper for your kind kind words."
The actress has been doing well for the past few years both personally and professionally. She even won a National Film Award for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Gangubai Kathiawadi" before making her Hollywood debut in "Heart of Stone". Aside from Alia, Indian-British actor Dev Patel, who recently made his directorial debut with "Monkey Man", is also named in the list.
