19 Jul - It was revealed that Sivakarthikeyan's new movie, "Amaran" will be releasing on Deepavali.

The news was shared by Raaj Kamal Films International with a poster that read, "Diwali Oct 31 release", and captioning it, "This Diwali" with a fire emoji.

The news meant that the film will likely be head-to-head with Rajinikanth's "Vettaiyan" and/or Ajith's "Vidaamuyarchi", both tentatively scheduled for Deepavali.

The said film, helmed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, tells the story of the late Major Mukund Varadharajan, who died in a military operation.

The film also co-stars Sai Pallavi, marking the first collaboration between the actress with Sivakarthikeyan.

"Vidaamuyarchi" may also be released on the same date
