"Deadpool & Wolverine" surpasses USD 1 billion mark

13 Aug - "Deadpool & Wolverine" has officially joined the billion-dollar club as it surpasses the mark in its third week.

The Marvel movie, which stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, recently grossed USD 494.3 million in the US, bringing a global cume of USD 1.029 billion when added with its USD 535.1 million at the international box office.


This is the second Disney movie that has surpassed the USD 1 billion mark after "Inside Out 2", after the animated feature made USD 1.55 billion at the box office to becoming the highest grossing animated movie of all time.

It is also believed that "Deadpool & Wolverine" will soon surpass 2019's "Joker" to become the highest grossing R-rated film of all time. It is noted that the Todd Phillips movie made USD 1.079 billion at the box office in 2019.
