21 Feb - Michael Keaton is truly happy to be able to work on set of the "Beetlejuice" sequel (aptly titled "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice") as it reminded him of filming sets of the past. In a recent interview with People, Keaton revealed that he and director Tim Burton both shared similar disinterest in making movies "in front of the giant screen". "It had to feel handmade," he said. "What made it fun was watching somebody in the corner actually holding something up for you, to watch everybody in the shrunken head room and say, 'Those are people under there, operating these things, trying to get it right.'"
Keaton added that it made him excited to be able to do things mechanically again after years of imagining things in front of the green screen. "We thought, 'You got to get this right. Otherwise, just don't do it. Let's just go on with our lives and do other things.'... Once we got there, I said, 'OK, let's just go for it. Let's just see if we can do it, if we can pull this off,'" he said.
The upcoming movie also sees the return of original stars like Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara as well as new additions like Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci and Justin Theroux. The movie is scheduled for 5 September 2024 release in Malaysia and Singapore.
