All-star cast assembled for electrifying heist thriller "Magik Rompak"

13 Nov - Malaysian production company ACT 2 Pictures and Singapore's Clover Films have announced the start of production for "Magik Rompak", a highly anticipated high-concept heist thriller directed by one of Malaysia's top directors, Adrian Teh.

Principal photography began on 9 November, marking a new chapter in Adrian Teh's cinematic journey.

"Magik Rompak" is a groundbreaking Singapore-Malaysia co-production that blends the thrill of high-stakes crime with the art of illusion. The narrative follows a legendary magician who assembles a reluctant crew for an audacious heist to steal a priceless gem. As their pasts intertwine and the stakes rise, the team must perfect the art of illusion, confront their vulnerabilities, and orchestrate the ultimate vanishing act.

The film features an exceptional ensemble cast of Malaysia's top talent, including Sharnaaz Ahmad, Zul Ariffin, Miller Khan, and Fabian Loo, each bringing unique depth and energy to their roles. The female leads, including Amelia Henderson, Yasmin Hani, and Elvina Mohamad, add layers of complexity and intrigue.

Veteran Singaporean actor Tay Ping Hui's commanding presence and performance as one of the villains intensifies the film's dramatic tension.

Budgeted at USD $3 million (RM 13 million), "Magik Rompak" will be entirely shot in Malaysia over a 50-day production period, with parts filmed at the Iskandar Malaysia Studios in Johor. Singapore's WOWFX Studios will craft a significant portion of the film's sophisticated digital effects.

"Alongside the plot twists and captivating magic sequences, I'm experimenting with innovative filming equipment, aiming to create visual experiences that will wow viewers."

"Magik Rompak" is presented by Clover Films and ACT 2 Pictures and jointly produced in association with Golden Screen Cinemas and Astro Shaw.
