10 Sep - Two Malaysian co-produced films were showcased in the Giornate degli Autori (Venice Days) at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. These included "To Kill A Mongolian Horse", the debut feature by director Jiang Xiaoxuan, and "I Am The Beauty Of Your Beauty, I Am The Fear Of Your Fear" by Malaysian filmmaker Tan Chui Mui.

"To Kill A Mongolian Horse" was produced by Mo Zhulin, with Tan Chui Mui as the executive producer. The film was co-produced by Malaysia's Da Huang Pictures, with Pluto Films handling world sales.

Jiang Xiaoxuan has won the "Best Directing and Screenwriting" prize under the Authors Under 40 Award, a collateral recognition at the Venice festival, dedicated to the late director Valentina Pedicini by "Venezia a Napoli. Il Cinema Esteso".

Miu Miu has hosted a panel conversation featuring Argentine filmmaker Laura Citarella, director of the latest Miu Miu Women's Tales short film, and Tan Chui Mui, moderated by Penny Martin.
