23 Feb – Ridley Scott is currently in talks to helm a biopic about famed musical group, the Bee Gees.

News of the Paramount Pictures project came amid the positive reception towards the studio's new movie, "Bob Marley: One Love", which made USD 45.6 million in the US in its five-day opening number.

The script has already been written by Oscar-nominated writer John Logan, whose repertoire included "The Aviator", "Hugo", and "Gladiator, while Barry Gibb, the only surviving Bee Gee member, is producing the project.

Scott's most recent film was "Napoleon", with "Gladiator 2" to be released in November this year.

The Bee Gees was formed in 1958 and consisted of brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb and went on to be dubbed The Disco Kings and The Kings of Dance Music. Among their hit songs include "Stayin' Alive", "Night Fever", "How Deep Is Your Love" and "More than a Woman".

The trio continued to perform consistently until the death of Maurice in 2003, followed by Robin in 2009.
