16 Apr – Salman Khan's family has dismissed the notion that they were not affected at all by the recent shooting outside their family home in Bandra. It is noted that Salman's parents live in the same Galaxy Apartments building as Salman, in a flat above his, to be exact. His father, Salim Khan, is a well-respected screenwriter. In a statement released by Salman's brother, Arbaaz Khan, the actor said that the recent incident of firing by two unidentified men on a motorcycle was very disturbing and unnerving. "Our family has been taken aback by this shocking incident that took place. Unfortunately, some people claiming to be close to our family and pretending to be the spokesperson have been making loose statements to the media saying it's all a publicity stunt and the family remains unaffected - which is not true," he expressed.
Arbaaz also stressed that no one in the Salim Khan family has made any statements regarding the incident to the media. "At this time the family is helping and cooperating with the police in the investigation of this untoward incident. We have faith in the Mumbai police and we have been assured they will do everything in their capacity to protect and secure our family. Thank you everyone for your love and support," he added. It was back on 15 March that two unidentified men opened fire outside Salman's residence. Following the incident, Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi whom has threatened Salman's life last year, claimed that he was involved in the incident.
