22 Oct - It seems that no one movie is staying atop for long for the past few weeks, as it was revealed that "Smile 2" has now topped the US box office, kicking off "Terrifier 3" from its reign. The movie, which made its debut on 18 October, made a decent USD 23 million in its three-day opening in the US, enough to get it to number one. It also made USD 23 million internationally, bringing the global total of USD 46 million.
This means that the movie had a similar three-day opening record with its predecessor, as the first "Smile" movie also grossed around USD 36.5 million worldwide during its opening in 2022. Meanwhile, "Joker: Folie à Deux" continues its disastrous record by plunging to number six in its third weekend of release, collecting USD 2.18 million in the US. It has now amassed USD 248.4 million globally, which is still too low compared to its USD 200 million budget. "The Wild Robot" remains in second place in its fourth week, while "Terrifier 3" has now fall down to third place.
