According to her parents, the actress, known for her role as Babita Kumari Phogat in the film, suffered from dermatomyositis which started with a swelling in her hands.

She was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) two weeks ago after the swelling spread to her entire body, and was given steroids treatment. However, the treatment weakened her immunity and she contracted infection while in hospital.

It is noted that Suhani took a break from acting in 2019 to focus on her studies.
