15 Jan – It was revealed that Paramount is currently in the process of developing the third instalment of the hit "Top Gun" franchise. As reported on Variety, the studio reportedly has hired Ehren Kruger, who previously co-wrote "Top Gun: Maverick", to pen the script of the third film, while trying to get Joseph Kosinski to return to helm the film. Paramount also hopes to reunite Cruise with his "Maverick" co-star Miles Teller and Glen Powell.
The news came not long after it was revealed that Cruise has inked a deal with Warner Bros. where he will develop franchises and original movies with the studio. "Top Gun: Maverick" was a big hit when it was released in 2022, grossing nearly USD 1.5 billion at the box office.
