5 Apr –Following the phenomenal success of last year's globally sensational dark trend, the bloodthirsty version of Winnie the Pooh movie, "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" is back with its sequel, slated for a thrilling release in Malaysia on 10 April. Since its first installment, the bloodthirsty "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" has remained a hot topic, not only for its potential to ruin cherished childhood memories but also due to controversies.
Earlier, in Hong Kong, political considerations led to the abrupt cancellation of the film's release, sparking intense discussions among netizens even before its premiere. Despite generating significant online buzz and noise, local distributors refrained from bringing the movie to theaters. However, the much-anticipated dark sequel, "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2", has now boldly secured distribution in Malaysia by Mega Films Distribution. The teaser promises the dark version of Winnie the Pooh will haunt nationwide cinemas starting this 10th, eliciting both fear and anticipation among local fans!
In this sequel, the bloodthirsty Winnie the Pooh will be joined by other childhood classic cartoon characters such as Piglet and Tigger as they venture out of the woods. Whether the movie will undergo extensive cuts or be released in its entirety after local censorship by the Film Censorship Board of Malaysia (LPF) remains a subject of eager anticipation. While the film has secured an early release in Malaysia, no release dates have been announced for neighbouring countries including Singapore and Thailand. In a previously released trailer of "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2", several scenes were seen to pay homage to numerous classic horror films including "IT", "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark", "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Halloween" as well as "Happy Death Day". Since the release of the official Malaysian poster yesterday, it has garnered nearly 500 likes within a day, indicating high anticipation among local fans!
