18 Jun – Singer-turned-filmmaker Asmawi Ani is elated to announce that his movie, "Zim Zim Ala Kazim" has made RM 1 million after only three days in theatres. Sharing the good news on social media on 16 May, the former "Akademi Fantasia 3" alumnus posted, "Subhanallah. You guys are the best. Continue your support, guys. Zim Zim Ala Kazim in theatres now. Let's go." Speaking to the media about the success, Mawi said that he hopes that the movie will continue its momentum in terms of its box office takings and reception from the audience. "Aside from acting and starring in the movie, I am also the producer. So of course, I would like for the movie to continue to make profit," he said.
The film, which stars celebrity preacher Dato' Ustaz Kazim Elias, revolves around a group of ghost hunters who often get together to investigate paranormal activities. During one of their search missions, they encountered something strange and it led them to the conclusion that Ustaz Kazim is in danger. Their new mission now is to save the celebrity preacher. The film co-stars Along Cham, Zarina Anjoulie and Bell Ngasri.
