"All That's Left of You" wins Best Film at 8th Malaysia Golden Global Awards


"All That's Left of You", directed by Cherien Dabis, receives the coveted Best Film award
28 Jul - The 8th Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) concluded with Palestine-focused film, "All That's Left of You", directed by Cherien Dabis, received the coveted Best Film award.

The film, which follows a Palestinian couple who must confront a life-altering decision amid the chaos of displacement and uncertainty, also won Dabis the Best Screenplay.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the New Hope Award by Dato' Hans Isaac, Chairman of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS). The award was presented to "Red Path", directed by Lotfi Achour, a Tunisian storyteller known for his theatrical and cinematic innovation.

The film explores themes of memory and trauma with poetic depth, marking Achour as a visionary voice in contemporary cinema. Achour himself won Best Director for the movie.

Meanwhile, Isabelle Stachtchenko took home Best Cinematography for "Universal Language". Her breathtaking visuals transcend borders, expressing shared human emotions with stunning clarity and elegance.

The title of Best Actor was awarded to Mahmood Bakri Chatila for his powerful role in "To A Land Unknown", capturing the inner turmoil of a man displaced by conflict with quiet intensity, while Juli Grabenhenrich won Best Actress for her performance in "Paternal Leave".
