23 Sep - Actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie recently spoke about her concerns for the United States, saying the country feels unfamiliar to her right now.

Jolie made the comments during a press event at the San Sebastián Film Festival in Spain, where she was promoting her new film "Couture", directed by Alice Winocour.

"It's a hard thing to talk about," she said when asked by the media. "I love my country but right now, I don't recognise it."

She explained that she's always lived and thought internationally. Her family, friends, and way of life are all very global, which is why she finds it troubling to see anything anywhere that divides people or limits their freedom of expression.

"We're living in really serious times," she added. "So, we have to be careful about what we say. But like all of you, I feel how heavy the world feels right now."

Jolie didn't mention any specific issue or event, but her comments came shortly after the controversy surrounding the late night show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" which was suddenly suspended following backlash over a joke about Donald Trump and the fatal shooting of far-right activist Charlie Kirk.
