Another "Archie" adaptation to be helmed by the "Spider-Verse" duo

22 Aug - Have you been frustrated over all the adaptations of the popular comic series, "Archie"? Do you want another go at an adaptation?

Well, Universal Pictures is now working on another adaptation of the said comic characters, and this time, it will be helmed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, most known for the Spider-Verse franchise, and to be written by Tom King of "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" fame.

The two announced the news on 20 August, stating that they have always been long-time fans of Archie and his gang.

"When we heard Tom King's take on the classic material, we instantly thought it made sense as an event movie for all audiences - both lifelong fans and a whole new generation. We're so excited to bring these beloved characters to the big screen," said Lord and Miller.

The last "Archie" adaptation was a Bollywood one, directed Zoya Akhtar and starring Agastya Nanda as the titular character. The same character was also played by New Zealand actor KJ Apa in the series, "Riverdale".
