24 Feb> – Astro Shaw is breaking new ground in Malaysian cinema with "Wantugo," the country's first-ever 'Battle Royale' genre film, slated for release at the end of this year. This groundbreaking production features an all-star cast including Zul Ariffin, Sein Qudsi, Meerqeen, Sky Iskandar, Daiyan Trisha, Elizabeth Tan, Nia Atasha, Yusof Hashim (Ucop), Arfie Shah, among other notable talents.
The film is helmed by acclaimed director Nurhanisham Muhammad (Labu), known for the premium drama "X-Change," with a compelling script penned by Ashraf Modee Zain. This innovative project is a collaborative effort between Astro Shaw and Infinitus Productions Sdn Bhd. Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, Executive Producer of Wantugo and Head of Astro Shaw, expressed her enthusiasm, "This is the first time that Astro Shaw is introducing a local film in the 'Battle Royale' genre to Malaysian audiences, and we are very excited to collaborate with Infinitus Entertainment, director Nurhanisham Muhammad (Labu), and writer Ashraf Modee Zain from Astro Shaw to make Wantugo a success."
