20 Jan - Brad Pitt's team has recently addressed the viral story of a French woman who was scammed by an impostor claiming to be the actor.

In a statement released to the media, the A-lister camp said, "It's awful that scammers take advantage of fans' strong connection with celebrities, but this is an important reminder to not respond to unsolicited online outreach, especially from actors who have no social media presence."

It is noted that Pitt, like most of his peers, doesn't have any social media accounts.

Last week, a woman named Anne turned viral and became a subject of mockery after revealing that she was scammed out of USD 850,000 by a person or persons who claimed to be the "Bullet Train" star.

The scammer allegedly used AI technology to dupe Anne, by sharing personalised photos and messages supposedly sent by Pitt, and requesting the French woman to send money to him for a hospital treatment with the excuse of him not being able to access his bank accounts due to his divorce from Angelina Jolie.

Anne only found out that she was scammed after she saw photos of Pitt with new girlfriend Ines de Ramon.
