13 Feb - Despite a huge number of competitions for the Chinese New Year cinema slots, "Close Ur Kopitiam" emerged a big winner by breaking RM10 million (RM10,019,637 and counting) at the Malaysian box office.

The movie defied the odds to emerge the number one Chinese New Year movie in Malaysia as well as the highest-grossing Malaysian Chinese movie in nearly a decade.

The last Chinese-Malaysian movie that broke more than RM10 million was 2014's "The Journey", directed by Chiu Keng Guan, which made RM16.87 million at the box office.

"Close Ur Kopitiam" tells the story of Ah Biao (Dissy's Song Bill) as he inherits his family's kopitiam and uses unconventional marketing tactics to attract new customers.
