22 Dec - James Gunn recently announced that DC Studios has finally found the right actor to play the antagonist Brainiac for the upcoming Superman movie, "Man of Tomorrow".

The filmmaker revealed the news on Instagram recently, sharing the photo of the person of their choice, writing, "In our worldwide search for Brainiac in Man of Tomorrow, Lars Eidinger rose to the top. Welcome to the DCU, Lars.

Brainiac is a DC Comics character created by writer Otto Binder and artist Al Plastino in 1958 and had since became one of Superman's greatest enemies. He is described as a super intelligent android or cyborg from the planet Colu who is obsessed with collecting all knowledge in the known universe.

The character previously appeared in "Smallville" portrayed by James Masters, as well as in many of the animated versions of Superman. This will be the first time that the character will appear in a live-action film, after several attempts did not come to fruition.

Lars Eidinger was last seen in the George Clooney-starrer, "Jay Kelly".
