19 Sep - Disney recently announced that The Jonas Brothers are returning to Camp Rock.

Disney+ shared the news on 18 September with a video of the three brothers arriving on set, with Nick announcing, "It's time to head back to camp" and ending with the words "Camp Rock 3 now in production".

The three will return as the Gray brothers and members of Connect 3, with lead actress Demi Lovato attached as executive producer alongside the trio. Maria Canals-Barrera, who played Lovato's mother in the franchise, will also return.

It also introduces new characters to be played by Sherry Cola, Liamani Segura, Lumi Pollack Brooklynn Pitts and Ava Jean among others.

The official logline reads: "The story picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances."

"Camp Rock is an important part of the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy, with unforgettable music, energetic storytelling, and characters that live in the hearts of fans to this day," said Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television. "Bringing it back with Kevin, Joe, Nick and Demi is such a full-circle moment, and we can't wait to reintroduce this world to a new generation."

The original 2008 "Camp Rock" movie starred Lovato as Mitchie, an aspiring singer who started a friendship with Connect 3's Shane Gray (Joe Jonas), who becomes enamoured by her voice not knowing it belongs to Mitchie.
