"Keluang Man" made RM3.78 million after 18 days

"Keluang Man" reveals disappointing box office
19 Jun - Astro Shaw's silence on the actual box office numbers for "Keluang Man" for the past two weeks had everybody questioning the real score, that is until the studio finally revealed that it has now made RM3.78 million.

The film, which was produced with a budget of RM13 million, accumulated the number after 18 days of screening, which is far behind its biggest competition, "Ejen Ali The Movie 2", which has now made RM55.1 million.

Nevertheless, Astro Shaw's Raja Jastina Raja Arshad assured that their focus was not just on the figures they collected.

"For us, this project is an effort to open a new path for local superhero films. Keluang Man is not just about collection, but a new direction," she said.

"Keluang Man" made less than RM4 million after 18 days
Many previously speculated that the timing of its release that coincided with " Ejen Ali The Movie 2" and other Hollywood movies like "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning" and "Lilo & Stitch", coupled with the hefty admission price of tickets were several of the main reasons why the movie did not do so well.

Aside from "Keluang Man", another local movie "Gantung: Musketeer Code" also ended its screening early and only collected RM117,641 after 11 days of screening.

"Gantung: Musketeer Code" screening was ended by GSC after only six days
