18 Apr - The cause of death of actress Michelle Trachtenberg has finally been revealed, two months after she was found dead at home.

The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner recently confirmed that the "Gossip Girl" actress died of complications from diabetes mellitus, with her death ruled as natural.

No autopsy was performed on the actress due to religious reasons, but toxicology test results provided additional information.

News of her passing circulated online back in February, after Trachtenberg was found dead in her New York City apartment by her mother. She had undergone a liver transplant prior to her passing.

The actress, who had been in showbiz since she was a child, had appeared in many films and TV works including "Harriet the Spy", "Ice Princess", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Sleepy Hollow".

She was 39.
