19 Nov – Production has officially begun for the live-action adaptation of the hit video game title, "The Legend of Zelda". The news was shared by Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto via social media on 17 November with three first-look photos of actors playing Zelda and Link. The post read, "This is Miyamoto. Filming is underway for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda in a lush, natural setting, with Bo Bragason-san who will play Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san who will play Link."
The movie, which was originally slated for March 2027 release, was previously revealed to have been shifted to 7 May 2027 due to production reasons. The movie is helmed by Wes Ball, with screenplay from TS Nowlin, taking over from Jurassic World scribe, Derek Connolly. Based on the 1986 videogame franchise created by Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, the story revolves around the elf-like warrior Link and Princess Zelda who team up to fight Ganon, a former warlord-turned-evil-demon-king.
