17 Apr - Filipina legendary actress Nora Aunor has recently passed away.

Her passing was confirmed by her son Ian on Facebook on 16 April, writing, "We love you, ma. God knows how much we love you... Rest in peace Ma... You are only here in our hearts and minds..."

No further details on the cause or place of her death were immediately given.

Born Nora Cabaltera Villamayor in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, the actress was proclaimed a National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022 for her extensive filmography and multiple awards both local and international.

Making her debut in the 1960s as a singer, Aunor went on to star in many movies, stage plays and TV shows, including "Himala" in 1982, "Bulaklak sa City Jail" in 1984 and "The Flor Contemplacion Story" in 1995. She has also directed two movies and produced several films and TV dramas throughout her career.

Her last TV appearance was in "Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law", while her last film was "Mananambal", which was released in February.

It was also reported that Aunor was in talks to headline a new project prior to her passing.
