22 Dec - Produced by MONSTA Studio and Astro Shaw, "Papa Zola The Movie" has pulled in an impressive RM25.6 million in just 11 days of screening.

The animated feature has claimed the top spot on GSC's Top 10 chart, proving that local films can go toe-to-toe with major international franchises like "Avatar: Fire And Ash", "Zootopia 2" and "Five Nights At Freddy's 2".

Audiences of all ages, especially families, are flocking to the cinemas to catch the film together, perfectly timed with the start of school holidays.

Nizam Abd Razak, Director, Writer, and CEO of MONSTA, shares, "The school holiday season has given families the perfect opportunity to spend quality time together, and we're incredibly grateful that "Papa Zola The Movie" has become part of their cinema experience. What's even more meaningful is that this response has been driven by word-of-mouth from audiences themselves."

Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, Executive Producer and Head of Astro Shaw, adds, "We're thrilled and grateful for what "Papa Zola The Movie" has achieved. Going up against a lineup of fresh releases from popular Hollywood franchises, this success proves that local films can compete at the highest level. A huge thank you to all the fans and moviegoers."

Meanwhile, last weekend's tour made stops in Perlis, Penang, Kedah, Perak, and the Klang Valley. The appearances of Papa Zola, Mama Zila, Pipi Zola, and BoBoiBoy mascots were met with enthusiastic crowds. The "Papa Zola The Movie" craze has truly sparked a "truth phenomenon."

The film is now showing in cinemas across Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. International expansion begins in January 2026 with releases in Indonesia and India, followed by Vietnam and Middle Eastern markets including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Turkey in April 2026.
