"Polis Evo" marks its 10th Wonda-ful anniversary

19 Sep - Polis Evo marks its 10th Wonda-Ful anniversary, celebrating a decade of the iconic action franchise produced by Astro Shaw. Over the years, the franchise has built a solid legacy within Malaysia's film industry, setting new benchmarks in storytelling, visual quality, creative marketing strategies and record-breaking box office success.

The "Polis Evo Wonda-Ful 10 Years" celebration, powered by WONDA Coffee, brought together the full ensemble cast from all three instalments of the franchise. Among the stars present were Zizan Razak, Shaheizy Sam, Nora Danish, Hasnul Rahmat, Fauzi Nawawi, Pablo Amirul, Farali Khan, Ezatty Abdullah, Riz Amin, Iman Corrine, Zulin Aziz, Dato Afdlin Shauki, Jasper Supayah, Dennis Yin and Ungku Hariz, alongside Polis Evo's Executive Producer Raja Jastina Raja Arshad; original creators and writers Joel Soh, Anwari Ashraf, Kyle Goonting, and directors Syafiq Yusof, Andre Chiew, and Ghaz Abu Bakar.

TGV Cinemas came on board as a supporting partner, providing the venue for this milestone reunion event.

Since 2015, "Polis Evo" has made history as Malaysia's only local franchise to maintain momentum for an entire decade. The first film, "Polis Evo" (2015), emerged as the No. 1 film in Malaysia that year, grossing RM17.8 million. Its sequel, "Polis Evo 2" (2018), strengthened the franchise's position as Malaysia's highest-grossing local action sequel with RM22.45 million. "Polis Evo 3" (2023) dominated the box office as the No. 1 film of the year and has since secured a place among the Top 5 highest-grossing Malaysian films of all time, with an impressive RM54 million.

"Remaining relevant for 10 years is no small feat," said Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, Head of Astro Shaw. "From 117 million social media impressions for the first film to 521 million TikTok impressions for 'Polis Evo 3', we've grown tremendously."

This anniversary marks a new beginning, with upcoming titles like "Evo: Mat Yam" already in development.
