Production launches for DC's "Supergirl"
17 Jan - "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" has officially begun filming this week at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden in the United Kingdom, marking the next chapter in James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC universe following the upcoming "Superman" film.

Comic book writer Tom King inadvertently broke the news in a now-deleted Instagram post.

The post featured the unlettered cover of the first issue, praising artist Bilquis Evely's work, stating, "I think genius Bilquis Evely first image drawn from the book. Nailed it right out of the gate."

The film stars "House of the Dragon" breakout actress Milly Alcock in the titular role of Supergirl.

In an exciting development, Jason Momoa has been cast as the antihero Lobo, making him the sole actor from the original Snyderverse to transition into the new Gunn-Safran era, albeit in a different role.

Other cast members include Matthias Schoenaerts and Eve Ridley.

The highly anticipated superhero film is scheduled for release in June 2026, further expanding DC's new cinematic universe under Gunn and Safran's creative direction.
