12 June – Another "21 Jump Street" sequel is currently in the works at Sony Pictures. As reported on THR, the upcoming film, titled "24 Jump Street," will have Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum returning as Schmidt and Jenko, alongside Ice Cube as Captain Dickson. However, the film will be directed by Rodney Rothman this time from a script he wrote with Hill and Meghan Malloy. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who helmed 2012's "21 Jump Street" and its 2014 sequel, will return as producers alongside Neal H. Moritz. No plot details have been released for the time being, nor has anybody explained why it is "24 Jump Street" instead of "23". The 2012 movie, which is a movie remake of the late '80s Johnny Depp-starrer, surpassed USD 200 million at the global box office. Its 2014 sequel made even a bigger haul with USD 331 million worldwide.
