17 Mar - No, it wasn't your usual action star who has been named the highest paid actor of the year 2025, but a comedy man who is now in his late 50s.

Forbes recently revealed that Adam Sandler was the highest paid actor last year, earning USD 48 million in the last fiscal year through movies like "Happy Gilmore 2" and "Jay Kelly".

However, despite being the highest paid last year, the amount is significantly less than 2024's highest paid actor Dwayne Johnson, who earned USD 88 million.

It was close for Tom Cruise, but no cigar

Second place went to Tom Cruise, who earned USD 46 million for "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning," while Mark Wahlberg is in third with USD 44 million.

Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson became the highest paid actress at number four with USD 43 million. It is noted that the actress made her directorial debut last year with "Eleanor the Great" and starred in "Jurassic World: Rebirth" and "The Phoenecian Scheme".

It is noted that the Forbes' list is based on data from Box Office Mojo, IMDB, and interviews with industry insiders.
