9 Feb - Angelica Lee recently announced that the new movie, "Dead Tide," has started filming and is in near completion.

Sharing the good news on social media, the Malaysian actress-producer revealed that she and director Kethsvin Chee have been writing the script together, interviewing countless people, and visiting his hometown for field research since 2023. The film draws inspiration from a true story, following a former murderer who returns to his fishing village seeking redemption.

"Walking through the streets and alleys of this fishing village I had never set foot in before, watching the villagers warmly greet Kethsvin and chat with him, I kept thinking: Oh my goodness, we're about to use the magic of cinema to grow a deeply unforgettable love story right here. It feels truly magical."

The upcoming movie is also co-produced by "Abang Adik" director Jin Ong and stars Malaysian actor Jack Tan and Taiwanese actress Moon Lee in the lead.

"Thank you to every cast and crew member, and to all the villagers who helped us complete the filming of Dead Tide so smoothly. May the love in Dead Tide begin to shine from this very moment, illuminating every corner that longs to be loved," Angelica added.
