6 Feb - Chiwetel Ejiofor has recently been announced as a part of the cast for the upcoming "The Exorcist" movie.

The movie, which has already cast Scarlett Johansson, Jacobi Jupe and Diane Lane, will now see Ejiofor returning to work with director Mike Flanagan, after the two worked together on the Stephen King adaptation, "The Life of Chuck" (2024).

Written by Flanagan himself, the film will not be a remake of the original movie, nor will it be a sequel to 2023's "The Exorcist: Believer". It is scheduled for release on 12 March 2027.

"The Exorcist is one of the reasons I became a filmmaker, and it is an honour to have the chance to try something fresh, bold and terrifying within its universe," said Flanagan back in 2024 after the announcement of his involvement in the project.

No news as to what character Ejiofor will play.
