18 Jun - Daveigh Chase, actress and voice star, has recently passed away.

The news was confirmed by her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, telling TMZ that the actress passed away on 16 June after battling meningitis and an infection in her blood that led to septic issues.

The former child star entered the limelight as Samantha Darko in the 2001 film, "Donnie Darko". She also lent her voice to several animated features, including playing Chihiro in the English dub of "Spirited Away" as well as playing Lilo in 2002's "Lilo & Stitch".

However, she was most known for playing the role of the vengeful Samara Morgan in the hit horror movie, "The Ring," which earned her the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain in 2003.

Her last acting credit was 2016's "American Romance".

Her boyfriend earlier launched a GoFundMe for Chase, revealing that the actress was diagnosed with meningitis and several serious blood infections.

"Her condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left. All she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe, and be happy. Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days. "I understand we all go through things, but if you can help, I will be really grateful for anything. And if you can only give a prayer, I will take that too. Thank you for considering helping us during this difficult time," he posted.
