23 Feb - It looks like the preproduction stage of the upcoming sequel to "Face/Off" is being delayed for now, as it was revealed that it has now lost its director.

Adam Wingard, who was earlier attached to helm the movie, reportedly has made a mutual decision to depart from the Paramount Pictures' project. The film now is without a director, and that other filmmakers are now trying their hands at it.

News of a new "Face/Off" movie was first announced in 2019, with the project to be a remake penned by Oren Uziel. In 2021, Wingard was brought on to direct a sequel.

The 1997 cult film was helmed by Hong Kong filmmaker John Woo and starred John Travolta as an FBI agent who swaps his face with a terrorist, Nicolas Cage, in order to investigate a bombing plan.
