"The Exorcist" continues to scare horror fans today
20 Jan - After it was taken off the release slot, Universal is now putting back Mike Flanagan's take on "The Exorcist".

On 16 January, the studio revealed that the upcoming movie will be released on 12 March 2027. It is noted that the film was originally slated for March 2026 before it was taken out back in June 2025.

The upcoming movie, which is produced by Jason Blum's Blumhouse and James Wan's Atomic Monster as well as Morgan Creek, will star Scarlett Johansson in the lead and co-stars Jacobi Jupe ("Hamnet").

Flanagan, a horror auteur known for his many successful films and series like "Doctor Sleep" and "The Haunting of Hill House," will be directing a new story that is not connected to the original film or even the newer versions.

It is noted that the last Exorcist movie was the 2023 film, "The Exorcist: Believer".
