"Libang Libu" amasses RM13 million at the box office

18 May - The rural comedy movie, "Libang Libu" has now made RM13 million at the Malaysian box office.

The news was announced by the makers on 16 May, revealing that the film has achieved the feat in its fourth week.

"Thank you to all Malaysians who have watched the movie! We can only express our infinite love, the members of the Libang Libu community. From day one until today... every ticket purchased, every video shared, every laugh in the theatre and every sentence "this is an awesome movie" all mean a lot to us," the team stated.

They continued, "Thank you for taking the time to laugh with us. Thank you, Malaysia. Keep supporting us (it is still in cinemas, you know)."

Directed and co-written by Bobby Hussaini, the movie tells the story of two brothers, Alid and Man Filem, and the situation that they have to go through due to the latter's tendency to accumulate debt due to his gambling problem.

The movie co-stars Amerul Affendi, Beto Kusyairy, Sara Ali, Nabila Huda, and a slew of big names as supporting characters, including Zahiril Adzim, Fikry Ibrahim, Bront Palarae and Datuk Yusof Haslam.
