19 Feb - Acclaimed Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh was celebrated on Wednesday, 18 February, when she received the 2,836th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame along the iconic Hollywood Boulevard.

During the ceremony, Yeoh delivered a moving speech, surrounded by a constellation of friends and long-time collaborators - among them directors Ang Lee and Jon M. Chu, alongside fellow actors Sandra Oh and Ke Huy Quan - as she marked the momentous occasion.

In her heartfelt speech about her journey to this milestone, Yeoh reflected on the winding road that brought her from Malaysia to Hollywood. "The path from Malaysia to here wasn't a straight line. There were moments I wondered if I belonged, but I was fortunate. Fortunate to be part of stories that cross borders and languages, stories that reminded us how deeply connected we all are. Thank you all for surrounding me with love, for being my safe harbour and for helping me stay true to my own north star. The star represents so many people who made this journey possible."

In her moving speech, the actress paused to honour those closest to her heart - her late father, Yeoh Kian Teik, who passed away in 2014, and her mother, Janet Yeoh, who continues to be a pillar of support in her life. In an emotional tribute to both, she said: "To my dad, I know you're up there, still watching and guiding me. To my mom, who's still praying every day for me that I will succeed. This is our star."
