6 Feb - It was reported that "Sandiwara," a collaborative effort between Sean Baker and Michelle Yeoh, is set to premiere at the Berlinale.

A cooperation between the two with London fashion house Self-Portrait, "Sandiwara" is a short film that has Baker shooting it on an iPhone, and Michelle playing five separate characters set in a Malaysian night market.

Shot in Penang, the synopsis described it as "each character telling their own unique story and representing a facet of Malaysian culture rarely explored."

The short film marks the first from Self-Portrait's Residency programme, which launched last year with the aim of inviting creatives "from all disciplines into the brand to design using their own distinctive style."

The Berlinale special screening will be held on 13 February, with Baker and Michelle to attend the Q&A afterwards.
