"TARUNG: Unforgiven" to hit cinemas 7 May 2026
17 Mar - Malaysia's most anticipated action film of 2026, "TARUNG: Unforgiven", is gearing up for a powerful arrival on the big screen. A collaboration between Alpha47, Icon Pictures, and Astro Shaw, the film is helmed by director Razaisyam Rashid, celebrated for his distinctive visual style and cinematic vision.

Last weekend at MITEC, the main cast was officially unveiled for the first time, marking the beginning of the film's journey toward its nationwide theatrical release on 7 May 2026. A one-minute teaser was also launched and will screen exclusively in cinemas across the country.

The film brings together an impressive ensemble of Malaysian talent - Bront Palarae, Zul Ariffin, Aedy Ashraf, Mierul Aiman, Amir Ahnaf, Azira Shafinaz, Sharifah Sakinah, Ubai Amir, Sky Iskandar, Ikmal Amry, Aeril Zafrel, and Theebaan G.

"TARUNG: Unforgiven" tells the story of a former silat champion haunted by past sins after a tragedy strikes. Forced into underground fighting to save his sister, he soon realizes that the opponent awaiting him is someone close from his past.

Director, screenwriter, and Executive Producer Razaisyam Rashid shares what sets this apart, "This film stands on the strength of its ensemble cast, whose energy and emotional depth make the on-screen conflicts feel bigger and more human. At its core, the film is deeply personal - you vs you. The toughest battles are not with external enemies, but with your own weaknesses, ego, and fears. TARUNG: Unforgiven represents the evolution of my filmmaking journey."

The film also marks a significant new chapter for Aedy Ashraf, stepping up as both Executive Producer and Producer alongside his lead acting role. He shares, "At 33, taking on a blockbuster production is a major risk, but I see it as an evolution in my journey. Through Alpha47, I am directly involved in the project's development, production, and creative direction. TARUNG: Unforgiven is the first step in my long-term ambition to build a stronger and more competitive local production landscape."
