"Bullet" fails to axe "Last Stand"

Sylvester Stallone and Sung Kung can't believe the reviews for their films.

31 Jan – January 2013 is the month of rated-18 action films, what with "The Last Stand", "Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters", "Parker" and "Bullet To The Head" making their way into cinemas. Recently, fans got to participate in Cinema Online's early screening of the aforementioned "Bullet To The Head", and they felt that it could have been better.

Directed by Walter Hill, the action film stars Sylvester Stallone and Sung Kang as partners in an unlikely partnership – the former is a hitman while the latter is a young Washington D.C. detective. The duo is brought together when both of their respective partners are murdered, involving them in a high-stakes investigation that leads from dingy back alleys all the way to the power corridors of New Orleans to take on all who stand in their way and sacrifice everything to exact revenge.

Given that the film is released within the same time frame as "The Last Stand", which was also distributed by Nusantara Edaran Filem, and its classification as an action film, it is unevitable that "Bullet To The Head" will draw comparisons with Arnold Schwarnegger's "The Last Stand" more.

Here are some of the valuable insights that our readers gave for the film:

Ng Siok Hiong: "I really like "Bullet To The Head" as a type of film where I can just sit back and relax. However, it was not as good compared to "The Last Stand".

(Right) Koay Su-Jian: "I enjoy watching action films, so "Bullet To The Head" was my kind of film. But I would rate it only 5/10 as the story is really cliché."

"Bullet To The Head" is now showing in Malaysia!
