2 Jun – "Me Before You" hits cinemas today, but lucky winners of Cinema Online's contest got to watch the romantic movie prior to its official release date in Malaysia. The screening took place at GSC One Utama yesterday, and we sure met a lot of people who were eager to watch the movie adaptation of Jojo Moyes' beloved romance novel.
As expected, most of the winners that came are fans of romantic movies. Some of them even compared the movie to the likes of "The Fault in Our Stars", "The Notebook", "A Walk to Remember" and "Titanic". "I've already watch the trailer, and it touched me, so I can't wait to watch it!" said Masnira Mohd Kamal who came with her friend. "I read the synopsis of the movie online and it seems interesting, so I thought that I would want to see what this movie is all about because it looks romantic," her friend added.
Khathekeyan Nadasan admitted that he had already read the book and he can't wait to watch the movie version of it. "I'm sure that the movie will be as good as the book, because I've seen the trailer and it looks awesome," he said.
Millie Ong commented, "The movie looks really cute, but another reason that I want to watch it is because the Mother of Dragons, Khaleesi (Emilia Clarke plays Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones") is in it!" "I'm sorry, but I want to watch it because Sam Claflin is in it," Millie's friend Melissa Woo stated.
"Me Before You" is about a young woman named Louisa Clark who works as a caretaker for a paralysed young man named Will Traynor. Though they both start off on the wrong foot, they soon become close friends and develop a romantic bond. "Me Before You" starts showing in cinemas from today onwards on 2 June 2016.
