Ryan Reynolds is back as Deadpool in "Deadpool 2".

This 17th May, we will finally get to see Deadpool back in our cinemas!

The sequel is no doubt one of the most anticipated summer movies of the year, given its large fanbase and the enormous success gained by the first movie in 2016.

By now, you've already known all about the Merc with a Mouth, but for the sequel, here are the ten things you should now before watching the movie:

Josh Brolin plays Cable in "Deadpool 2".

One of the biggest selling points in the upcoming "Deadpool 2" is the introduction of Cable. Now, who the heck is he anyway? We know this Marvel character is played by none other than Josh Brolin (yes, it's the same guy who played Thanos in "Avengers: Infinity War"). In "Deadpool 2", Cable is served as Deadpool's (Ryan Reynolds) adversary who will battle against him over the life of a young mutant named Russell (Julian Dennison).

In the comics, Cable is a time-travelling mutant soldier (as depicted in this sequel as well) who made his first appearance in "The Uncanny X-Men #201" in 1986. His real name is Nathan Summers and if the surname sounds awfully familiar, that's because he is actually the son of Scott Summers a.k.a. Cyclops (at the present Fox's Marvel movie timeline, Tye Sheridan plays Cyclops in 2016's "X-Men: Apocalypse" and next year's "X-Men: Dark Phoenix") and Madeline Pryor, a clone of Jean Grey, but it wasn't until the year 1990 in "The New Mutants #86" when Nathan appeared as a grown-up adult and became popularly known as Cable.

The other new character that's going to appear in "Deadpool 2" for the first time is Neena Thurman a.k.a. Domino. Played by Zazie Beetz of TV's "Atlanta" fame, Domino is a mercenary who possesses a mutant power that is able to manipulate probability. Like the comics where she first appeared in "The New Mutants #98" and "X-Force #8" in 1991-92, Zazie's Domino in "Deadpool 2" will also feature her nifty combat skills including marksmanship and martial arts.

If the introductions of Cable and Domino aren't enough to get you excited for the sequel, "Deadpool 2" will see the Merc with a Mouth himself assemble his own team of mutants and call themselves X-Force. Apart from Deadpool, some of the other team members include Domino, Bedlam (Terry Crews), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan), Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgard) and Pete Wisdom (Rob Delaney).

In the comics, Jesse Aaronson a.k.a. Bedlam is a mutant who's able to disable anything that has an electromagnetic field. Gaveedra-Seven a.k.a. Shatterstar has several superpower abilities such as creating teleportation portals using his swords and has a superhuman strength. Then, there's Axel Cluney a.k.a. Zeitgeist whose mutant power is acidic vomit. Interestingly enough is Rob Delaney's role as Pete Wisdom or "Peter". Now, who is this Peter anyway? If you have seen the final "Deadpool 2" trailer, he appears to be an ordinary everyman who wants to join the X-Force members after seeing a recruitment ad. Given this is "Deadpool 2" we are talking about, Rob Delaney's role might be pretty much a comic relief.

This middle finger is proof that "Deadpool 2" isn't for kiddies.

After Disney finally acquired 20th Century Fox's film and TV assets in an astonishing deal over USD52 billion last December, many "Deadpool" fans are understandably panicked about the fate of this sequel. As you know, Disney is famously a studio focused more on family-friendly entertainment. The first "Deadpool" in 2016 was an R-rated comic-book movie and the sequel happens to continue with the same edgy tradition. With 20th Century Fox now under the Disney-Fox merger, is "Deadpool 2" going to be toned down to a kid-friendly PG-13? Well, fans now can breathe easy since "Deadpool 2" will retain its original R-rating.

While "Deadpool 2" seemingly focuses a lot on Deadpool, Cable, Domino and the establishment of X-Force, fans of the 2016 movie will be delighted to see some of the recurring characters back as well. That includes Morena Baccarin as Deadpool's girlfriend Vanessa, TJ Miller as Deadpool's sidekick Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Deadpool's blind and elderly roommate Blind Al, and Karan Soni as Deadpool's personal taxi driver Dopinder. Not to forget also are the two X-Men characters, Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Colossus (Stefan Kapicic).

In case you haven't noticed, the first "Deadpool" movie was originally directed by Tim Miller. Miller, of course, was slated to return for the sequel until the usual "creative differences" issue took place and he chose to bow out instead. While Miller is now off to focus on his new "Terminator" reboot alongside James Cameron, the sequel has got David Leitch. If the name doesn't sound familiar to you, he's the one who gave us "John Wick" and "Atomic Blonde". As a veteran stunt coordinator and second-unit director, Leitch has what it takes to make a great action movie of "Deadpool 2". Whether or not he's able to capture the irreverent comedy that sets the tone of the first movie remains to be seen.

Deadpool is not getting along with Cable in "Deadpool 2".

"Deadpool 2" might seemingly indicate that Cable will be Deadpool's main villain. As seen in the trailers, they are going to fight against each other, but at the same time, we also know that Cable will eventually become part of the X-Force. The sequel will depict their mismatched/misunderstood relationship similar to a buddy comedy. The genre, of course, often refers to two mismatched partners (usually involving cops) who have different mindsets or work ethics. In fact, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld himself has even compared Reynolds' Deadpool and Brolin's Cable equivalent to Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in the "Rush Hour" franchise during an interview last year.

Just like how Deadpool loves to poke fun at movies like "Green Lantern", the "X-Men" prequel franchise and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in the 2016 movie, you'll be getting more of that in the sequel. As seen in one of the trailers, Deadpool is seen quipping: "So dark -- are you sure you're not from the DC Universe?". The sequel even goes as far as poking fun at "Avengers: Infinity War" or more specifically, Josh Brolin's Thanos. Unfortunately, there was a recent news where Fox made Ryan Reynolds cut out a joke about Disney from the sequel.

The writers behind the first "Deadpool" movie did a great job meshing over-the-top action and irreverent yet raunchy comedy into an R-rated comic-book movie. The writers in question are Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Both of them are, of course, best known for writing "Zombieland". Fans of the first movie will be happy to know that Reese and Wernick are also responsible for the sequel's screenplay. And if that's not enough, Ryan Reynolds himself is also actively involved in the sequel's screenwriting process as well.

Deadpool poses a "Wakanda Forever"...no, "X-Force" stance in "Deadpool 2".

With the X-Force finally getting their big-screen debut in "Deadpool 2", it's a matter of time before we finally get the inevitable team-up movie. As for now, Fox has already brought in Drew Goddard to write and direct the "X-Force" feature. Goddard is no stranger to adapting comic-book property, having written Marvel's TV series including "Daredevil" and "The Defenders". He is also responsible for contributing some of the best television series over the last decade including "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", "Alias" and "Lost".
