Official character posters for "Warcraft"

Game characters from the popular "Warcraft" franchise are coming to life on the big screen in the movie adaptation of the same name by writer-director Duncan Jones.

The movie will focus on the story of Anduin Lothar versus Durotan, Human and Orc heroes from the original real-time strategy games, as the Dark Portal opens to connect Azeroth and the dying world of Draenor, bringing with its destruction and extinction.

"Warcraft: The Beginning" starts playing in cinemas on 9 June 2016.

Ruth Negga plays Lady Taria, whose grace and diplomacy is a beacon of hope to the people.


Paula Patton is Garona, a strong-willed orc-draenei survivor who will join Lothar and
Durotan to save a world they can all call home.


Travis Fimmel as Sir Anduin Lothar, the brave knight who sacrifices everything to
become defender of Azeroth.


Dominic Cooper plays King Llane Wrynn, a symbol of strength even at times of war.


Clancy Brown as Blackhand the Destroyer, a fearsome orc chieftain driven by cruel
ambition and fuelled by rage.


Robert Kazinsky is Orgrim, wielder of the mighty Doomhammer
and loyal to his Chieftain Durotan.


Daniel Wu plays Gul'dan, a tyrannical orc shaman with dark powers.


Toby Kebbell is Durotan, Chieftain of the Frostwolf Clan who will do
whatever it takes to find a home for his clan.
