Characters you didn't realise were gay in these movies

Why is Josh Gad's LeFou as a gay character in the upcoming "Beauty and the Beast" such a big deal? Was it because director Bill Condon's well-meaning announcement of the live-action adaptation giving the character an "exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie" created an unnecessary backlash, which probably would have not happen did he not say anything and let audiences watch it for themselves? Like these films below that somehow made it to our screens with one or more (obvious or not) LGBTQ characters. Check them out below to see if you had even realised it!

"Harry Potter" movies, Dumbledore.

Even though it is not highlighted in the film, author J.K. Rowling had in 2007 revealed that the great wizard Albus Dumbledore is gay. No issues had surfaced in the next four "Harry Potter" films that came after that information. Rowling has also said that the young Dumbledore in the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts" sequels would be openly gay.

"The Peanuts Movie (2015), Peppermint Patty and Marcie.

Although Peppermint Patty and Marcie has always been the best of friends, some even question their tomboy-ish behaviour (especially Peppermint Patty) and some have speculated that the pair is actually more like GFFs than BFFs.

"Lilo and Stitch" (2002), Pleakley.

Alien Jumba's thin, one-eyed assistant, Pleakley enjoys dressing up in woman's clothes and a wig, to supposedly disguise as Jumba's wife. It is subtle, but there are many moments in the film that highlight Pleakley's flamboyance and a possible relationship developing with Jumba.
