Maggie Q's starring roles on the big and small screens

In 2020 alone, we see Maggie Q dominating the big screen with three movies, the latest one being the horror movie "Death of Me". This actress might be no stranger to most movie fans but for the uninitiated, the 41-year-old was born in Hawaii to an American father and a Vietnamese mother (who met when her father was stationed in Vietnam) and later moved to Hong Kong to pursue modelling and acting. Bearing the real name Margaret Denise Quigley, she started going by Maggie Q since Asian audience had trouble pronouncing her last name. She is a PETA spokesperson and was named Person of the Year in 2007 by PETA Asia-Pacific. She made her feature film debut in 1999's "The Legendary Tai Fei", in which she interestingly had to learn her lines phonetically as she did not speak Cantonese. Her first major Hollywood role was starring opposite Tom Cruise in "Mission: Impossible III", while her first series regular role was as the title lead in CW series "Nikita". Did you know that she's also lost her hearing in one ear after a stunt explosion blew out her eardrum? Now let's get to know more about the actress' works over the years – just scroll through the gallery below!

Of course, Maggie Q can currently be seen starring opposite Luke Hemsworth
in horror movie "Death of Me".

Drama film "The Argument" never made it to our shores, but Maggie stars in it as Sarah,
paired up with Brett (played by Danny Pudi of "Community" fame).

Right before cinemas started closing earlier this year, "Fantasy Island" managed to get a
theatrical release. The supernatural horror movie sees Maggie
playing a businesswoman named Gwen Olsen.
