Don Lee thinks he was a macho Korean slave in his past life

(L-R) "Along with the Gods 2" stars Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Hyang-gi and Don Lee during the interview at Mandarin Oriental, Taipei.

We previously shared our little chat with actors Ha Jung-woo and Kim Dong-wook from "Along with the Gods 2: The Last 49 Days", as well as director Kim Yong-hwa. We promised that we would also share our interview with Don Lee (or Ma Dong-seok, some of you might know him as), Ju Ji-hoon and Kim Hyang-gi, and here it is.

The trio stars as Household God Sung-ju, and guardians Hewonmak and Deok-choon, respectively, in the continuation to "Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds".

Guardians Hewonmak and Deok-choon have to be polite in front of Sung-ju,
especially after learning that the Household God can help them recover their erased past.

We see the two guardians tasked with dealing with the Household God down on Earth. The duo expected trouble from Sung-ju when they come for him. What they did not expect, however, is he holds the information to their erased past and through him, slowly the mystery of their shared past begins to unravel.

"Along with the Gods 2: The Last 49 Days" is now showing in cinemas nationwide. Whether you've seen it or not (but really, you should, especially if you're curious on how it picks up right after the first movie ended), read on to find out what these three stars have to say about filming the movie, their past life and their afterlife guardian of choice.

(L-R) Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Hyang-gi and Don Lee can currently be seen in "Along with the Gods 2".

Cinema Online: What was the most memorable part while filming the movie?

Ju Ji-hoon: When we were shooting the three guardians' past, it was in the studio, so we replaced snow with salt. It went into my eyes, ears, nose...I felt that I tasted salty after shooting. It made it very difficult for me to focus on my character, there were so many scenes that I needed to act with emotion.

Were there any other scenes that were hard to shoot?

Don Lee: For me...the excrement was not real but when I touched it, it feels the same as a real one. So even though it's not real, it was very difficult for me to put my hands inside, I tried hard.

While Ju Ji-hoon's filming experience was more 'salty', Don Lee's was more 'crappy'?

What do you personally like about your character in this movie?

Kim Hyang-gi: In the movie, Deok-choon looks very weak and innocent so people might think that she is not strong. But she has a very strong heart inside and I think that's what attracts me to this character.

Ju Ji-hoon: I don't have any personal feeling on this but my character in the movie, his emotion changes over 1000 years, and I think this is another point of the movie that people can enjoy.

If you believe in reincarnation, who do you think you were in your past life?

Ju Ji-hoon: I'm not sure about the system (Don Lee: system? Haha!) but I hope there is that kind of thing, so I can get some mileage for reincarnation.

Don Lee: I'm not sure but...my past life, I think I was a madangshie (Korean slaves who are very macho), a hard-working one. I don't know if I believe in reincarnation but yeah, if I'm reborn...hmm, what should I be? A shark? So I can eat many fishes.

Kim Hyang-gi shouldn't have any problem portraying her character Deok-choon,
since the guardian (in her past life as a human) is the same age as the young actress.

If today is the last day of your life, who would you want to ask for forgiveness from?

Ju Ji-hoon: Oh, it's too many, it can't be done in one day. I need at least one year, it's not easy.

Kim Hyang-gi: I'm...not sure.

Don Lee: She is only 19, so.

Ju Ji-hoon: Korean age.

Don Lee: International age she is 18.

Ju Ji-hoon: She is actually 17 because her birthday hasn't come yet. (The interview was held three days before the actress' 18th birthday).

Don Lee: Oh. (Laughs, then answers the question himself). Okay, so many for me too, I also need a year to finish that. I think one day is too short.

Who among the cast would you pick as your afterlife guardian?

Ju Ji-hoon: I want the king of the afterlife (King Yeomra) because he is the most powerful.

Kim Hyang-gi: I want Kang-lim because he is a good lawyer.

Don Lee: I want Deok-choon, because she is so kind so she will listen to me.
