2 Sep – Despite the negative reviews for "Babylon A.D.", Vin Diesel ran unleaded over the extended Merdeka holiday weekend and came through victor in box office sales (August 28-31). Singaporean comedy "Money No Enough 2" aptly sealed its own fate, not making enough and coming in second behind the sci-fi actioner. However, takings for both movies were significant as the non-summer movies season begin to take its toll. Ousted by Vin Diesel soundly is Jason Statham in "Death Race", which takes up the No.3 spot. The two stocky actors seem to be vying for the ultimate musclemen role, as opposed to the effiminate "Zohan" hero at No.4. Pixar's "Wall-E" declines further to No.6 while new releases "Dhaam Dhoom", "The Luckiest Man" "The Love Guru" and "Ghost House" all get a top ten spot. The last blockbuster this season, "The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor", is set to exit the top ten next week, while "The Dark Knight" nears the end of its run.
