27 Feb – One would not expect a movie bearing the title "Sex Drive" to play in Malaysian cinemas - but the 18PL-rated comedy is indeed now showing nationwide. Earlier the movie had run into trouble with the censors for its 'suggestive' promo posters.

While the movie title is both literal and proverbial, it was actually the comedy elements in the film that appealed to audiences. One such attraction in this tale of three friends on a road trip to satiate their libidos is Seth Green, who plays a beardy Amish character who just happens to be great at fixing cars. The movie also features some real life cultural peculiarities of the Amish, which local audiences found very interesting, according to general opinion among those who showed up at 9.30pm on 25 February 2009 at Cathay Cineleisure Damansara for a special preview of the film.

After the preview, we put the audience to the laugh-o-meter test and asked them "What they thought of the Amish character".

Farizzakirin: The movie was very funny! I loved it so much I wouldn't mind watching it again. I thought the Amish character did a good job putting on a straight face while he was making a joke. The film is so funny that I'd rate it with 4 stars!

Foo Chun Kit: I have to say it's quite funny! It even has a thoughtful message behind it and not just mindless entertainment. The Amish guy looked very peculiar costume wise, but I still enjoyed his character because of his sarcasm. I'd give it 3.5 stars worth of laughs.

"Sex Drive" is now showing in cinemas!
