16 Jun – The "District 9" mystery unravelled a little a few days ago when Sony Pictures Releasing International put up a new super interactive website to replace its previous one, which was a series of make-believe community websites for a shady fictional government body called the Multi-National United, among other things. Viral buzz for the Peter Jackson ("Lord Of The Rings") project has been building online for a while now and curious fans now get a 360° panoramic view of the story's titular locale, complete with a large extraterrestrial spacecraft hovering above and wasteland debris all over (www.district9movie.com). Consistent with its "alien" content in previous material, the gorgeous website also gives you the option of downloading strange illegible fonts for everyday computer use, not to mention a peek at scenes from the movie. You can still access older material at the previous site www.d-9.com. "District 9" opens 14 August 2009 in Singapore and Malaysia.
